Do you make part or all of your online income by selling other
people's products or services?
If you do, then take it from someone who knows all-too-well that
you are NOT getting all the affiliate income you are anywhere near entitles
to.
Here are four facts about being a successful or not too
successful marketing affiliate for someone else... regardless who it is.
Fact: There are some people who feel that if they can cut you
out of your commission they will get a better deal. Duh!
And, inside that group there are those who just plain don't want
you to earn a fair commission for any reason despite what you have gone through
to bring them to your site to help them. That's just the way it is.
Fact: Nothing is forever. If you are affiliate or associate
marketing, chances are you have or will have several hundred possible sponsors.
Problems is that while that does dramatically help your revenue streams, you
will have a significant percentage of sponsors which will either shut down
entirely, be down temporarily, or even change payment options.
Either way, you will be sending people to sites or pages that no
longer work. And, chances are they won't tell you.
And, when you are into the hundreds of sponsor links, you simply
can't check them all for being current.
My own experience was when my host shut down and left my sites... boom...
offline, I had to restart everything. To my shock, over 8% of my my sponsor
sites were no longer in existence and another 7% had changed payment carriers,
while another 11% had simply modified their pages and no longer properly
represented my own support text. 26% of my traffic to those sponsors was 100%
wasted!
That's called a wake up call!
Fact: There are simply cyberscumballs who will simply swap their
affiliate link with their own.
The positive is that people with that mentality almost always
hurt their own chances with the best of the best simply because that mentality
shows itself in all their daily dealings. And, the best of us will have
nothing to do with them.
So, what you want to do is to hide your links from these
dirtballs.
If you have already lots of links or you know what I'm talking
about, you are already losing money... daily.
Finally, as you start making money online, you will begin to
realize that being a Super Affiliate is the way to go. But, being a Super
Affiliate with many, many portals of products and services is even the best way
to go. So, what I recommend comes from a very good friend of mine, he's one of
"the best of the best" both for his products as well as his
exceptional people-attitude.
